The Right Answer for Nevada!

We need to get the economic wheel turning again! Too many businesses have been decimated or shuttered during the COVID lockdowns. People are hurting but we can and we MUST revive the Nevada spirit by fostering economic growth through policies that eliminate unnecessary government mandates, over regulation, or taxes. We rely too much on just the gaming industry and mining. We need to diversify into other sectors. I will push for policies that attract innovative companies to relocate here with tax incentives. But in order to be competitive  in drawing new businesses here, we MUST IMPROVE OUR SCHOOLS!

Schools should be a safe haven for ALL.  No student should be viewed as a victim or an oppressor, but each student should be viewed as a precious gift with untold potential!  I know there is much discussion these days with gender malleability, trans students, curriculum choices, pronoun choices, and the list goes on.  BUT, what is truly important is that each and every person feels safe, is free from bullying on and off campus, and is treated with respect. What schools need to prioritize is reading, writing, comprehension, math, and science to be at or above grade level enabling that student to be competitive and reach their full potential.  This can be achieved by transparency from teachers and administrators toward parents concerning curriculum being taught, matters regarding discipline, medical issues, sex education and anything discussed with a student that the parent would want to know about.  The rights of parents to know what their child is "learning" is of paramount importance and is NOT passed off to the educational system without restriction.

In order to bring new businesses into Nevada, those businesses have to feel comfortable that their children will get a top notch education. That is currently not the case.  The Nevada national ranking is toward the bottom of the list. We are a transient state, but we can't use that as an excuse. I will push for school choice. No child should be condemned to attend an underperforming school because of their zip code! The unmanageable size of the Clark County School District is also an issue.  I support reforms that will allow for a more localized educational system rather than a county wide system.

Quality health care is something that every single one of us need. But we need it at an affordable price with the inclusion of pre-existing conditions.  That is not the only thing we need here in Las Vegas.  As our population continues to explode we need more highly trained doctors and specialists to serve the people of the community! We shouldn't feel as if we have to travel to Los Angeles to find a physician or surgeon who specializes in an area we personally need.  I will support policies that enable us to diversify economically to enrich our quality of health care!

We are constantly under attack with our Constitutional RIGHT to own and bear arms!  Recently, the Nevada Legislature passed the Red Flag law which I will work to repeal.  I believe in an individual's right to due process which this bill strips away! 

This past year we saw the results of the Democrat propelled "Defund the Police" movement.  In 2021 Las Vegas saw 147 homicides, a 44% increase over 2020.  Progressive judges have buckled under the pressure of cash bail reform activists.  I will support policies that equip our brave first responders with the resources necessary to protect life and property!  I will support measures that will strengthen our laws to hold violent criminals accountable.  It is time to once again hold people accountable for their decisions.

Voting is one of our sacred rights under the Constitution and it must be held with the greatest regard to protect it at all costs from being tainted.  All eligible citizens must have their voices heard but we can't have the mess that happened in the last election!  Voter Rolls need to be cleaned up and greater care taken that each eligible citizen gets one vote.  Identification is used everywhere today:  to fly, to drive, to purchase alcohol, to attend school, to open a bank account, etc.  I will make it a priority to support legislation so that our great citizens regain their confidence in our voting system! 

Nevada is a beautiful state with so many natural resources!  And while we need to practice continued conservation of our state and federal parks and monuments for future generations, we need to find a way to utilize our abundance of minerals for the good of the nation.  The push to reduce our carbon footprint is remedied with electric cars.  But electric cars need batteries and battery production requires the rare earth mineral lithium. Currently, Nevada (Esmeralda County) has the largest and ONLY operating lithium mine in the United States!  We need to sensibly mine that area and bring that wealth to the people of Nevada while helping meet the goal of reducing carbon emissions.  

Nevada plays a HUGE role in national defense.  The Nevada Test and Training Range occupies 2.9 million acres of land!  We also have Nellis AFB and Creech AFB here in Southern Nevada. The Department of Defense spends millions of dollars for the use of the land and facilities. We should look into safely and sensibly expanding the current area so that our service men and women have a greater training area.  There is still a lot of air space over the open desert that is not being utilized and could contribute to the coffers of Nevada for the benefit of all Nevadans!
